Managing water resources sustainably: Researchers present global analyses and local solutions at the GRoW mid-term conference in Frankfurt am Main.

Increasing governance capacities in the water sector while reflecting the close links between local and global action – these were the core topics addressed during the mid-term conference of the funding measure “Water as a Global Resource” (GRoW) launched by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in 2017.

The twelve GRoW joint research projects presented their progress and achievements on 20 and 21 February 2019 in Frankfurt am Main and discussed them with experts from international water research, policy and management practice. Within five thematic breakout sessions, experts from international organisations and GRoW implementation partners identified challenges and opportunities for the transfer of GRoW results into practice.

Around 200 experts from more than 90 international institutions attended the conference. Guests included GRoW project partners, representatives of the private and the public sector and of international organisations working to achieve SDG 6.
