SPS Blue Nile Team conducted a training workshop on Earth System Modelling

From June 24 to 28, 2024, members of the SPS Blue Nile Team at KIT, in close cooperation with the Centre for Climate Resilience and the Institute of Geography at the University of Augsburg, conducted a training workshop on Earth System Modelling using the WRF-Hydro Modelling System in Addis Ababa. Together with IGAD’s Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), 20 experts and decision-makers from across East Africa were introduced to the model over the course of a week. This training complements existing bilateral cooperation aimed at establishing and using the model system for improved hydrometeorological forecasting in East Africa.
