GRoW is happy to announce that the keynote at the GRoW final conference will be held by Dr Olcay Ünver, Vice-Chair of UN-Water and Senior Advisor at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). He will provide insights on the UN-Water 2030 Strategy and the SDG 6 Global Acceleration Framework launched at the High-Level Political Forum last July. While preparing for the conference, we had the opportunity to talk to him about linking local and global levels in water management.
Taking place on June 16, 2020, the webinar is dedicated to the diverse tasks of water management and protection, in which the use of drones can contribute to working more efficiently as well as generating high-quality and reproducible data. Dipl.-Geogr. Daniel Höck from DIE GEWÄSSER-EXPERTEN!, partner in the GRoW joint project iWaGSS, will be the webinar’s guest speaker.
As part of the GRoW project Trust, scientists from the University of Stuttgart are currently building several training and pilot plants for drinking water treatment and wastewater reuse for irrigation together with local partners and stakeholders in Peru. The municipality of San Andrés de Tupicocha, the local operator JASS, the DVGW Water Technology Center (TZW), the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería Lima (UNI), as well as local NGOs are closely involved in installation of the pilots plants.
The final workshop of MuDak-WRM took place on March 3, 2020, in the Tarumá area in Curitiba, Brazil. Around 90 project-internal and external participants came together on the premises of the Brazilian industrial partner and water supplier SANEPAR to discuss the latest findings within the project’s different working areas.
